G C Laboratories Ltd was incorporated in 1972 and are thus in our 36^th year of successful trading. Over this period we have analysed numerous samples and, as a consequence, have gained a wide and varied client base. A large number of our clients, many 'blue chip' as well as international and foreign companies, have been with us for 25 years or more. Our dedication to analytical excellence has gained us the confidence of major international organisations and governments, our Certificates of Analysis being accepted by companies and regulatory authorities around the world. 

G C Laboratories has steadily grown since its conception and, as a consequence, in 1998, moved to our much larger premises at Stotfold.

G C Laboratories analytical performance and commitment to good science is recognised by the fact that we are accredited to the internationally accepted Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standard. This very exacting Quality Standard, which is applied to Laboratories worldwide, is overseen in this country by the Medicines Control Agency, and is subject to Statutory Regulation under the UK Good Laboratory Practice Regulations 1999 (SI No. 3106), the Good Laboratory Practice (Codification Amendments, Etc.)  Regulations 2004 (SI No.994), and the OECD Principles of Good Laboratory Practice (as revised in 1997) ENV/MC/CHEM(98)17, which are in accordance with the requirements of Directives 2004/9/EC and 2004/10/EC. GC Laboratories Ltd was one of the first laboratories in this country to be accredited to this standard in 1989 and have maintained this accreditation right up to the present day. Copies of our current GLP Certificate are available if required.

G C Laboratories main field is in the Agrochemical and Agricultural Industry, although we are also heavily involved with many other industries such as Pharmaceuticals, Veterinary, Food, Plastics, Cosmetics, General Chemicals, Water etc. as well as Environmental and Forensic Analysis. We perform analyses at all concentrations from the Macro, which covers such areas as Quality Control, Storage Stability Analysis, Five Batch Analysis etc. to the Micro level, such as the determination of Pesticide in Crops, Food, Water etc. We also specialise in developing and validating methods of analysis.

Our strengths lie in the fact that we have, between our staff, a very wide and detailed knowledge of Analytical Chemistry and Phys/Chem testing and, in particular, its application to Agrochemical, Pharmaceutical, etc., problems. We offer a very personal service to our many clients and encourage direct contact between the client and the analyst actually carrying out the work. We also offer a very fast turnaround for routine analyses, which is greatly appreciated by our manufacturing clients for whom we carry out Quality Control determinations. Most QC results are available on the same day that the samples are received, so long as we are informed of when they are due to arrive in advance. This is made possible due our very flexible work force, whom are prepared to change their hours of work to suit the needs of our clients.

We have fully equipped Residue and Formulation Laboratories which contain a wide range of equipment including the following instrumentation: Gas Chromatographs (GC), GC Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS), High Performance Liquid Chromatographs (HPLC), Infra Red Spectrophotometers (IR), Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometers (AA), Ultraviolet/Visible Spectrophotometers (UV/Vis), Differential Scanning Calorimetry(DSC), etc.

G C Laboratories qualified and well trained staff are proficient in performing Storage Stability Trials, Five Batch Analyses, Quality Control and Trouble Shooting for agrochemical formulations and in the production of analytical data for registration purposes.

Our staff are highly conversant with published methods, e.g. CIPAC, FAO, AOAC, BP, OECD, EC, etc. as well as using Clients’ methods and our own comprehensive range of in-house methods.
